Grosmont Station Group

Part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Welcome to Grosmont Station

The group helps to look after Grosmont Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and is made up of volunteers, all of whom work on the railway in one way or another - from Guards, Ticket Inspectors and Booking Clerks to Station Foremen and catering staff.

2007 saw the return of through steam trains from Pickering and Grosmont to Whitby, restoring a service that ended over forty years ago. These trains are operated by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Over 300,000 people visit the railway each year now, making Grosmont a very busy village once again. Engine sheds and workshops see high profile restoration projects completed at Grosmont MPD. The station has also made several TV appearances, for series such as BBC's 'Casualty' and ITV's 'Heartbeat'.

For this year's timetables - including information on dining services and special events, please refer to the NYMR's official website at www.nymr.co.uk .
