Grosmont is the northern terminus of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The station provides a junction with Network Rail's 'Esk Valley' line from Middlesbrough to Whitby. The NYMR operates regular steam and heritage diesel services from Pickering, through Grosmont to the wonderfully charming seaside town of Whitby.
Grosmont is also home to the engine sheds (the Motive Power Depot), housing the railway's varied steam and diesel fleet.
The station gardens are a constant source of pride for the group, being lovingly maintained to provide a blaze of colour and floral interest throughout the season. The tea room garden is always resplendent with colourful and relaxing flowers which perfectly complement the passing steam locos to provide a timeless atmosphere of days gone by.
